Meet The Chef: San Sethachutkul

Born in Thailand, San Sethachutkul learned early on to appreciate fresh ingredients and spices that highlight the natural vibrancy of Oriental's. Working with delicatessens and spice in Thailand, Suny also found that he had a knack for food preparation in a professional setting. When he comes to New York, Suny finds him a job at restaurant called Casablanca in middle town, owned by Kaz Bayati. Impressed by his inherent aptitude in the kitchen, Suny ’s employer suggested that he should take a class in Persian cuisine. Soon after, Suny enrolled with a Persian Chef, and performed his tallent to learn Persian Cuisine. Than Suny joined the staff as a line cook and began learning the ins and outs of a variety of stations,ingredients and technique of the cuisine. After a year and a half, Suny takes place as Sous Chef. He later accepted the position at the newly opening Persepolis as an executive chef and Co-Owner, welcoming the opportunity to cook and please the Upper East Sider's as well as very demanding Persian customers. Persepolis’s warm environs and welcoming staff, provide for a transporting experience in the heart of New York City.
